Steven Von has spent the last several years running marketing for local service businesses: Google Ads, Facebook and Instagram, Google Business Profiles, websites, reviews and the follow-up systems behind them. The benchmark data on this site comes from a monthly pull of public Google Business Profile listings that he cleans, deduplicates and summarizes so owners can see how their trade actually shows up on Google. Every guide and post is written or edited by him. Nothing on this site is sponsored, and no numbers are invented: every figure traces back to the dataset or is clearly marked as an example.
How the numbers on this site are made
The benchmark figures come from 70,932 public Google Business Profile listings of massage therapists and spas across 51 states, pulled monthly, deduplicated and summarized. Every number in a guide or post is either drawn from that dataset or labeled as a hypothetical example. See the benchmark report and the method page.
